Los Angeles native Jern Eye moved to Oakland, California in 1999 with high school friend Sizwe (Spear of the Nation) and formed hip hop entity Lunar Heights along with DJ Khai. As a "Heightsman", he has performed locally and abroad, sharing the stage with the likes of Crown City Rockers, The Pharcyde, KRS-One, Dead Prez, Alkoholiks, Living Legends, Blackalicious, Dilated Peoples, and Supernatural. Under NatAural High Records/Koch Entertainment, Lunar Heights released critically acclaimed Crescent Moon EP in 2004, and in 2005, released an album on wax entitled Da Music.
Jern Eye released a solo album entitled Authentic Vintage in 2006, also under NatAural High Records. While still a core member of Lunar Heights, he released this solo project to establish himself as both contending producer and emcee. He went on a "Three the Hard Way" tour with Opio of Souls of Mischief and Scarub of the Living Legends to promote the album.
